Every system has a security status.

  • High-sec (1.0 to 0.5): CONCORD punishes illegal attacks. The safest space.
  • Low-sec (0.4 to 0.1): no CONCORD response, only gate and station guns. PvP is common.
  • Null-sec (0.0): no NPC police at all. Mostly controlled by player alliances.
  • Wormhole space: unlisted systems reached through wormholes that shift and collapse, with no local chat to show who is around.

Rewards generally go up as security goes down. New pilots usually start in high-sec and visit the others with a group.
