How do I avoid getting scammed in EVE?

Scamming is allowed by the game rules, so a little suspicion goes a long way.

  • Nobody doubles ISK. If someone in trade-hub chat offers to, it is a scam.
  • Read every contract carefully before accepting: the item, the quantity, the price, and the location.
  • A legitimate corporation never charges you to join.
  • Be careful with "can you help me test something" or "just undock for a second" requests from strangers.

When in doubt, ask in your corp chat before you click accept.
